Attribute the number
Inhance’s January 2025 regulatory update says its research and development reduced unintended PFAS formation by more than 90 percent. The statement is the company’s account of its improvements. This publication has not independently reproduced the underlying testing.
Ask what was compared
A reader should ask which substances were included, what earlier condition served as the baseline and how samples were selected. A percentage change alone does not show an absolute concentration or establish a finding about every article treated. Different comparison periods can also change the meaning of a headline.
What would strengthen confidence
Comparable before-and-after reports, clear analytical limits and an explanation of operational coverage would make the claim easier to assess. Until the relevant information is available, the number should retain attribution. It should not be ignored simply because the company supplied it, or promoted into an independent certification because it is precise.
