An assurance needs a scope

A statement that packaging complies with relevant requirements should identify the use and jurisdiction it addresses. Broad language can sound reassuring while leaving a purchaser unsure which product, batch or process version was evaluated. The company’s public response is a starting point for inquiry, not a substitute for application-specific records.

What a document request could cover

A purchaser could ask for the applicable specification, test report, sample date and explanation of any process change. These are questions for evaluation, not allegations that a supplier lacks the records. A laboratory result should remain linked to the item it actually describes.

Why traceability matters

If a problem is reported later, an organization needs to know which deliveries and uses are implicated. A clear connection between supplier statements, purchase records and testing avoids treating an entire product category as one undifferentiated batch. This article is an evidence framework, not a determination of any customer’s compliance.
